The Forum is co-hosted by:
PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel (Nornickel), Ecological Foundation of the Siberian Federal University (EF of the SibFU) and Research Institute of Environment Issues (NIIPE).
Forum History
The present Ecological Forum evolved from the International Ecological Conference 'Protection of the Environment and Industrial Activity in the North' hosted by PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel. This year, it will be held as part of the Murmansk International Business Week (MIBW).

Therefore, this year, in Murmansk, the Ecological Forum will carry on the tradition of Nornickel's conferences on environment: up until 2017, such conferences were held in Norilsk; last year, the event took place in Krasnoyarsk and was dedicated to tackling the issues of environmental responsibility and sustainable development, legislation, and administration of law as regards the environment.

Forum Participants
The event will be attended by officials representing both federal authorities and provincial governments of Northern Russian regions, experts, researchers, as well as representatives of NGOs and manufacturing companies operating in the High North. International environmental NGOs are also invited to take part in this Forum.
The past years' experience shows the Ecological Forum's efficiency as a platform bringing together business, state, environment and civil society stakeholders. Sustainable development is directly influenced by the progress of this dialogue for the benefit of economy, environment and society.

In addition, the Forum serves as a venue for developing the best solutions aiming to ensure industrial and environmental safety, sharing best practices among manufacturing companies in managing environmental safety systems, environmental conservation, and implementing corporate environmental projects.

At the Forum, SibFU Ecological Foundation, Nornickel and other large manufacturing companies focused on improving the natural environment in the High North will present their ongoing and perspective projects in this field.
